Update situation

Post by 45011ohio » Wed Feb 21, 2018 9:13 am

If you read my previous posts about my condition you may remember that JANUARY 4-5 2018 I did a 2nd titration test since last May. I was diagnosed as having complex sleep apnea instead of the obstructive sleep apnea that I had been dealing with for the last 6 months.
Early last week Feb. 12 or 13, I called my doctor and the sleep lab because I had not heard a single peep from the DME company [(Adult & Pediatric Specialists) still a subsidiary of Lincare, and in my opinion terrible customer service] . They finally contacted me last Friday and swapped out my AIRSENSE 10 CPAP machine for a AIRCURVE 10 ST BPAP machine yesterday.
I slept for @7.5 hours and I do believe un-interupted sleep at that which is rare for me. I know it takes awhile to see any results, but at least its a step in the right direction.

When you have time you might update your equipment/machine in your signature line to reflect the new ResMed AirCurve 10 ST machine.

And I have seen reports from before and after with the ST for Complex Sleep Apnea....it does work well when the settings are optimal.
The final proof is of course your sleep and how you feel. It should improve as you get used to the machine.

You can use SleepyHead with it if you want to.

This thread sizes way down due to the failure of the software to do a line wrap on the OP'S long "additional comments" line .

Pugsy,,,,
I changed the equipment before doing the update. Unfortunately I only could find the 'AIRCURVE 10 S' model not the ST model in the list of equipment. If I somehow overlooked it then, 'MYBAD'. I also tried to edit that line specifically without luck. Is it possible there is a typo in the list?
I have used it for 3 nights now. The first 2 nights I averaged over 9 events per hour. Last night I averaged only 3.5 events per hour and 7.5 hours of use.

The ST isn't listed in your menu choices because cpap.com doesn't sell it.
Instead just add it to the comments section of the equipment profile...see how I have my back up machines listed in the comments section.

Remove the link to the AirCurve 10 S....so just don't pick a machine and instead fix your comments section.
I would suggest choosing the mask from the equipment menu choices and altering the comments section
to something like this
Diagnosed CompSA...AirCurve 10 ST...

That's all that is really needed.

If the mask you are using isn't offered in the mask choices...you can again add it to the comments section but you can shorten it to
F & P so and so mask.
This way your comments section won't be so huge.
Short and to the point and we all know easily enough what these pieces of equipment are.

Additional update - 3/23/2018

I saw my sleep doctor today. I did not know this but apparently when I did the 2nd Titration test in January I had an AHI of 17 while on the CPAP machine.
(It may have been what the doctor saw on my download that triggered the new Titration test). With the new Aircurve 10 ST BI-PAP that I have been using since 2/20/2018 my AHI is now down to 7.
I am assuming that this is the average number of events per hour per night.
Considering that I know I was at 40 per hour average the night of the test I think I am doing a lot better. It has only been 1 month with the new machine, but I am sure my numbers will continue to improve.
The doctor is dropping my top pressure a little bit because I have been having some chest pain in the morning with a lot of burping. ( I must be swallowing a lot of air)
