I just had mine and they had box fan that I used for white noise. I also took melatonin, many here disagree with my dosage but if I want to sleep I take 12 mg. My sleep onset was 12 minutes lol.i felt like I didn't sleep that well at mine. I had a 84% sleep efficiency which blew me away.

Another I do is count down from 100 slowly. On slow inhale I say ninety , on slow exhale I say nine. So on and so forth. Trick is to catch your mind from drifting and focus on breathing and the numbers.

Good luck!
Thanks! Good ideas, I often do Meditainment on the computer which is a story you imagine that knocks me out. I'll try the counting starting tonight!

" sleep performance anxiety."

how they use to treat that was to hook you up in a lab and every time you went to sleep, they'd wake you up and do it all night. It taught the body how to go to sleep with a reasonable onset time.
I try to follow sleep hygiene- if your not asleep in 20 minutes get out of bed, but that makes me start cleaning the house and exercising. I'll try just falling back asleep.

I'm pretty sure sleep hygiene isn't cleaning the house or exercising. It's sitting and reading a boring book, in an incandescent light. no blue spectrum, so no screens. Then when you are tired, go back to bed. I would read more about it, you may need to change what you are doing.
