Selling CPAP equipment

Post by cherylann » Mon Feb 05, 2018 11:58 am

What is the best way to sell equipment? I have a machine (with humidifier and bag). I have tried Craigslist, my neighborhood blog, and Facebook to no avail.

I've noticed others have posted theirs right here for sale in the forum. So you have a captive audience here looking exactly for that sort of stuff.

Sorry I'm so late in getting back to this. I have a RESMED S9 with humidifier and bag. It has 5,021 run hours.

Asking $350.

Put it back on craigslist for $200, and it will probably sell. I bought my backup S9 autoset 3 years ago for $200. $350 could take awhile.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

The price is why it's not selling... What model S9? If it's an Autoset or Elite it's worth $200.. If it's an Escape <$200

Thanks everyone for all your replies. I thought $350 was a good price since I know my insurance company at the time paid the DME $3,000!!!

I think I'll just keep it as a back-up.

Back up is a good plan.
No insurance company will pay more than MSRP--
No matter what they say.

You need to pay attention to your statements from insurance.
I just got a new S-10 which is a model newer than yours. my dme charges $150.00 a month rent. medicare approves $40.56 medicare pays $31.80. I (my secondary insurance) paid $8.11. this is one month rent X 13 months when it is paid in full and belongs to me.
This means the total cost that my dme charges is $1950. The total amount Medicare approved is $527.28. The total amount medicare paid is $413.40. The total amount I or my secondary insurance pays is $105.43.
This does not include the heated humidifier and heated hose that are paid in full and separately. $527 is a long way from your $3000.
Every cpap or apap from the lowest and highest advertised or billed are paid with one billing code, one price. no matter what people think, what i paid for mine is the same everyone else with insurance that follows medicare pricing with a 80/20 split pays.
