Heated hose management- huge leaking-help

Post by Slats » Fri Feb 16, 2018 9:00 pm

I have been having huge leaks, terrible bloating from using heated hose with both the Dreamwear nasal pillows as well as my Airfit p10. I use mask liners, but still suffering. The hose is heavy and I am uncertain what else to do re positioning the hose. I sleep on my side. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you don't need the heated hose...What happens when you use the traditional slimline hose?

What do you feel when you feel the 'heavy' hose? Does it lay across your throat? Across your chest? Wants to pull you out of bed as it drapes over to your machine or pull your mask adrift? Are you sure it's the hose and not side-pressure on the head gear that's displacing the mask? Could it be some of both?

I pull the hose entirely over to me, carefully, and snake it under my blankets. It normally does a fairly decent job of staying put, but not if the blanket is light.

I meant the heated hose is heavier than the regular one. It lays behind me , tucked under the pillow , but the Dreamwear hose is attached on the headgear, so hardier to maneuver.

Brrr...I bet you do get rain out without a heated hose.

Did you see my comment about hose management tricks in your other thread?

I'm in favor of a cold bedroom 60-65 year around, but it sounds like what you need is a furnace, or to move back into the house in the winter. I learned to do without using a HH or water. a big water glass and straw keep me watered down, drinking about 8 oz most nights.

I don't breath water added air 16 hours a day, don't need it at night, just don't breath thru your mouth. Jim

I am never cold, and love my bedroom.

I'm a side sleeper with a heated hose, using a $12 hose holder which suspends the hose above me. As I flip and flop from side to side, just enough hose follows me, but stays out of the way enough not to get entangled or pull off my nasal pillow mask. So far, works for me; YMMV.
