Brevida mask - have to re-inflate pillows?

Post by KTinTexas » Fri Feb 16, 2018 4:54 pm

I have been trying the F&P Brevida pillow mask. The nasal pillows are great- they are so soft and when they are inflated, they have a great seal. Only thing is if I take it off because I have t go to the bathroom, it's hard to get the pillows back in my nose. They tend to deflate and you have to pull on them to "pop" them out before you turn the machine back on. That's hard to do in the dark. Anyone else having that problem?

I've known many folks to disconnect the cpap hose from the mask/short hose, rather than remove the mask from their face. This may help eliminate the need to refit/"reinflate" the pillows, no?

That's a thought. Maybe I'll try that.

Here is what I do...

I sit up on the bed, put one hand on the nose piece to steady it, then take the other hand and grab the head straps and pull them over my head. This prevents the pillows from being shoved in.

When you are ready to put the mask back on, position the nose piece with one hand and once you have it in place grab the head straps with the other hand and place them over you head. A final adjustment is usually needed and then you can lay down and get comfortable.
