I have an "Urge" to try a new mask

Post by StuUnderPressure » Wed Feb 14, 2018 4:26 pm

This is not an urge born out of necessity - just curious that I could possibly find something better.

I have always used a Nasal Mask.

I currently use the ResMed Activa LT Nasal mask & it is working very well for me.
I have been successfully using that mask for a very long time now without any leaking problem whatsoever.

In late 2013 & early 2014, I also had that same urge & wanted to try a Nasal Pillows mask.
So I tried the AirFit P10 Nasal Pillows mask.
I could never get it to not leak which I attributed to the design of the Headgear. I did try different sizes of pillows.

Not having any luck with a Nasal Pillows mask, I moved on to other Nasal masks, but with much smaller cushions.

I tried the Swift FX Nano & the AirFit N10
Same problems with the uncontrollable leaking which I again attributed to the design of the Headgear in both.

QUESTIONS:

Have either of those 3 masks come up with better designs in their headgear - better enough for me to try them again?
What about other masks comparable to those 3?

Maybe you could look into those on Cpap.com - so much detail available there, with pix, reviews, etc... and the customer service is great.

There's been no change in the head gear of the 3 masks that you mentioned that I am aware of.
Not with the P10 or Swift FX. I have never even seen the N10 but I doubt that ResMed changed just the head gear.

Have you looked at the Wisp from Respironics? It's similar to the Nano but with more head gear so it might be more stable for you.

I know you don't particularly care for pillows but you might look at the F & P Brevida. It's so soft you can't really feel those inner cones.
It's fairly new.

Considering that really great masks can be unexpectedly DISCONTINUED,
it is a good thing to know what to use next . . .
---or stock up.
