You mean the Cats are Spoiled, and they have Trained You. Jim
+1 remember, dogs have owners; cats have staff ;)

My cat does this occasionally to my short hose on the P10, but after she chewed the first heated hose I thumped her nose enough times she got the message not to mess with the equipment. She now mouths it but doesn't get her teeth into it.

Isn't that the truth.

And speaking of bad kitties. I just discovered that one of mine seems to have chewed through the power cord. Sigh.
At least the one from the brick to the wall and not the other more expensive which includes the brick.
My fault...long story but I had changed it out to see if the one from the Respironics machine would work and I just laid it on top of the table and didn't put it away. Too much temptation. Picked it up today to finally put it away and ooops...90% chewed through and bare wires showing. Beyond my being comfortable trying to repair it and hubby didn't give me a chance to even think about repairing.
Told me wasn't worth the fire risk and I have several of those power cords from various dead computers anyway.

Wire Loom Black 20' Feet 3/8" Split Tubing Hose Cover Auto Home Marine

I don't know how to copy the link, but above is the info on what I use to protect cords. My kitty had destroyed many cords before I realized he was doing it. Bought these cord covers on Amazon (they are available in different diameters for thick or thin cords, now also in colors) since using them he still chews the covers but no tooth marks what so ever on any cords. I also use a hose cozy because he chewed a hose also. Gotta love kitties!

UPDATE:
Just heard a crash and commotion; as predicted, the cat had crashed into the CPAP cabinet, sending everything on top flying in all directions. The CPAP machine & mask were safe as houses inside.

I thought I was the only one who had the cat from hell in their house.
I guess she has a cousin out there I didn't know about.

I recall when Sheriff Buford said that he recycles his old cpap hoses to cover/bundle cords.

Sounds like it would work.

Those old hoses will work but they are a bit bulky and I don't have any old hoses that I would want to sacrifice.
I did do that with an old hose some years back when the damn cat ate the wire from my internet modem and knocked out my internet until I figured out what had happened and got a new ethernet cord and protected it with the old hose. It was a bit bulky and annoying and worked okay on top of the dresser and out of my sight but I think for around my bed or near me I don't want so much bulk.
And for the price of one cheap hose I can get 20 ft of the other stuff and make it the length that I need.

I use a heated hose now and don't have any of the old cheap generic hoses. I do have a spare hose but it is of the heated variety.
I don't routinely get hoses from my DME so I haven't stock piled any hoses.
