Re: Rant: why is it so hard just to get a heated hose?
I just lucked out on my heated hose. I received my recall replacement Dreamstation 1 "head" yesterday "finally", and when I removed my Dreamstation 1 from storage I found a heated hose with I had forgotten about. I cleaned and quit using the Dreamstation 1 when it was first announced of the foam iss...

Re: Philips Respironics Recall
I decided to buy a replacement unit and send the bill to Medicare. They probably won't pay it since my DreamStation1 is only 3 1/2 years old, but then I appeal. It will be fun sending in appeals forever. In the mean time I have a new unit, yes I bought a DreamStation 2 while my DME had a few, and wh...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
I just spoke with my DME and they have no idea how the Dreamstation 1 issue will be resolved. But they do have 5 Dreamstation 2's in stock (I asked, they didn't even mention it). I bought one of them and will pick it up tomorrow morning. It comes with a heated hose since the connection is different ...

Re: Dreamstation & DreamMapper
DreamMapper quit working for me totally several days before November 1. Then miraculously on November 1 it started working again with all missing days info. I think there was an update to the DreamMapper web site during this period. I have seen this happen previously. It would be nice however if the...

Re: Do any of these anti-snoring gadgets really stop sleep apnea?
The first thing you need to realize is that "snoring" and "sleep apnea" are not mutually inclusive. People can snore and not have sleep apnea and people can have sleep apnea and not snore. Snoring CAN be an indicator, but not a cause. Eliminating snoring doesn't mean you've eliminated sleep apnea. ...

Re: Dreamwear nasal cpap mask leak help
I know a number of people who liked the Dreamwear mask very much, including me, but had an issue with the mask not staying in place when you changed positions and leaks developing. It must have happened to a large number of people, because Phillips came out with a new Headgear with arms that solved...

Re: COPD
My Opinion is that the SoClean doesn't clean. It may or may not sanitize to some degree, but clean? I guess they feel that some degree of sanitizing is cleaning. I think not. Maybe sanitized crud is considered clean now days? But either way, I absolutely do not want an ozone generator in my house an...

Re: I hated this mask!
I know we all have our preferences, but I inherited some brand new ResMed N30i masks, and HATE that mask. WTF is wrong with ResMed that thinks it is a good idea to blow the air on the mask wearer??? I could not escape the downward draft of the front vent. UGH!!!! This mask also leaked into m...

Re: Just exactly how does the cpap compensate for a change in elevation
I received my first APAP just prior to a trip to Colorado for some skiing a couple of years ago with the grandchildren (I watched - too old). I questioned my DME about how the ski lodge elevation of 9,200' would impact the performance or what changes I would need to perform if any. My pressure is fi...

Re: FDA: Ozone and UV Cleaners --> Banned!
One thing about the SoClean sales info is that is "cleans". Now just how does it do that? I suppose ozone can sanitize if it is in a high enough concentration, but "clean"? Maybe you just end up with a dirty mask/hose, but that sucker is sanitized? Just thinking I guess, but I definitely do not have...

Re: I dropped my sleep Dr.
I went through the MediCare procedure to get my system paid for. That was the only reason I messed with Medicare, the doctor that I never ever met, and the supplier. My cost for "supplies" is virtually zero other than one mask that I bought just because it was the new Dreamwear nasal with arms which...

Re: Respironics Dreamwear Nasal Pillow Mask : Strap issue
I was part of a field trial for this new strap a year ago and loved it over a 90 day test period. Unfortunately Respironics wanted it back at the end of the trial. When they released the final version a few weeks ago I bought two and didn't notice any changes from the trial mask I used last year. Pr...
