On paper the data points to decent/optimal therapy with the exception of the obvious large leak issues.

Severely fragmented sleep for whatever reason is going to mean we sleep like crap and feel like crap.
If you wake up often for any reason you aren't going to feel good because you didn't sleep so good.

Mask fit...leaks..comfort..or even just because the brain doesn't like it being on your face....they all can impact sleep quality.

Sleep onset insomnia...difficulty falling asleep.
Sleep maintenance insomnia...difficulty staying asleep..waking often and/or difficulty going back to sleep.
Both of these can be caused by mask issues...but also caused by any number of other things unrelated to cpap or sleep apnea.

Obviously you have to sort through the mask issues...anything that causes us to wake up is unwanted.
While doing that take the time to sort through any other potential issues like how any medications you might be taking could be impacting things or how any other health issues might be impacting things.

From the data though..the only thing that I see that needs fixing is the leak issues..short hours of sleep and the fragmentation.

I tried a few I don't remember during the initial sleep study and titration. Ended up with the Resmed Quattro Air. Switched mask for something more comfortable and less leaky. Ended up with the F20. To me, the rubber coushion edges feel sharp. Headgear seams feel sharp. And that magnetic clasp is a pain -- you gotta get it in just the right spot... When the mask is OFF the face, the magnetic clasp can find its own mark, but when wearing, there's tension on the headgear and it took me months of practice... The Quattro air was a simple loop I could do blindfolded and with one arm.

I'm sorry you've been having so much trouble for so long. I don't think you have the kind of support which we all deserve. If you've been making the same complaints at every appointment for years, it sounds like you may need a new provider. The headgear and mask should not hurt. I'm only a month in and am having trouble finding a mask which works for me but I've tried 8 already and the people I see at my sleep lab have been responsive to my difficulties as well as kind and encouraging. They said we'll just keep working at it until we find one which fits, I felt like I needed an adjustment to my machine last week and after determining what the problem was, the tech I was working with clicked a few keys and made the change in a couple minutes. Please, if you are able to switch, think about that as a possibility if you aren't satisfied. Good luck!
