Bad sternum pain.

Post by Brandimore » Thu Jan 18, 2018 10:55 pm

Hi im new here.
So I have bad mixed apnea and have a CPAP machine. I had a huge split in the mask so I am using a temporary one but this is my third night not using it. I know I should wear it every night buy I wear it most nights. Anyway I am waking up with a terrible sore/sharp pain on my breastbone and I am not sure what it is from. I just started using lavender spray so that might be it. Does anyone have guesses of what it might be? I read somewhere about a long word that starts with a c, I don't remember. Thanks for reading! I hope you have a good day

I think you are referring to a condition called “costochondritis”. I have had a few episodes. Feels like ribs are broken and can be quite painful.

Yes thank you greengables for reminding me of the name. I have thought about going to the doctor just to make sure that is the case but I don't think that is needed now.

Go to the doctor! Of all things to let a stranger on the internet diagnose long distance, chest pain is not one to guess at!

When someone with "bad mixed apnea" does not use CPAP, that can put terrible stress on the body and cause serious problems for the heart. Please do not ignore the symptom.
With any type of chest pain the best course of action is calling 911 or getting to a hospital immediately. -- http://stress.lovetoknow.com/Sudden_Pai ... rom_Stress
