I can attest to that, although in my case it took more time. Worst was my verbal fluency, just verbal not written. I used incorrect words but with the right concept, like 'envelop' for 'sauce pan' which my family and friends thought was highly amusing much to my frustration and embarrassment. At work, I attended software design meetings acting as a JAD scribe and/or user liaison as well as teaching via Webinars, so my compromised verbal fluency was very challenging. Too, I forgot things, example, I am a creative non-recipe cook and I forgot how to make gravy, my version, not from a recipe; I spent a lot of time that Thanksgiving in tears over my missing memory. I got in the habit of writing post-it notes and carrying a notepad, esp during meetings. I gave up reading anything technical as I just could not focus and comprehend. My short-term memory was pretty horrid for the first year or two; this is now 95% improved (the 5% I blame on getting older LOL). Sadly, some long-term memories are just gone, I assume I had brain lesions in those memory tracks. I was a technical writer during that time and while my word use was accurate, my grammar had to be triple checked...I appreciated MS Word's assistance aids and was very grateful when my grammar boo-boos disappeared. I was very pleasantly surprised at how many memories were restored...sorta like the memory was there but the retrieval mechanism was temporarily damaged. I continued to see small improvements for several years after starting CPAP therapy. I urge fellow hoseheads to be patient.
