Re: Pulse ox meter 24h without pc
You can't use the DVD with a Mac because the drive is too big for the small disk, but you can still read it off the meter (and use a bandaid to hold it). You're confusing me (or are confused) tho' because you want a 24 hr one but say 8 hrs is 'enough' (for overnight). Which is it?

You would have to trust them and when you get the product you go down to your doctor's office and take it with you and compare what it says to what the doctor's office pulse oximeter says.emmayes wrote:How do I know if it is clinically correct?
Some people just tape it on the finger. I used the CMS (Contec) 50 D plus and it stayed on all night and I didn't even tape.emmayes wrote: And how will an oximeter on your finger stay there all night? The wristversions seem better?
What do you have access to? How are you posting on this forum...phone, Mac, whatever?emmayes wrote: I came across contec, but they all (?) seem to need a windows computer to read your SpO2, and I don’t have access to one.

Re: Pulse ox meter 24h without pc
I don’t think you can read it off the meter, only realtime measurements but that isn’t useful when using it during sleep.
Sorry to get you confused; 24 hours is what most of them are described as. “24 hour oximeter”.
So 8 hours is enough, but 24 is ok too.
I am posting this on an iphone.

I looked at the Check Me O2 by Viatom.
It appears to record over night and has some sort of phone app for viewing results. Is that correct?
It should also offer a spot check ability even if you can't see it on the screen...should go to the app on the phone.
It is a bit pricey but cheaper than buying a computer to run Windows and the Contec software.
I have never heard of them but that means nothing really because for my needs the Contec CMS models are sufficient so I have no need to search for other alternatives. Since cheaper fulfills my needs I don't look further.
Have you just simply asked your doctor to order an overnight pulse recording oximeter so your cpap equipment supplier could just furnish the needed oximeter and generate a report? Or were you wanting to do it more often and hence just buy your own?
There may be other overnight recording pulse oximeters out there that have phone apps...just because I don't know about them doesn't mean they don't exist.
Alternately do you know someone with a Windows or Mac computer? SleepyHead will import from the Contec oximeters so I think since there is a Mac version of SleepyHead it can still be done. Just the other day someone was doing it. A bit problematic at first but finally got it done.
There is no SleepyHead app for a phone. So while there is a way around the Windows thing...it ends up involving a Mac thing.

This appears to be the same unit selling under a different name. Pugsy is correct that only a smartphone app is needed.
