Reminder---this ancient thread started in 2007--IMO, pure nonsense.
It is the catchword that gets them.
"Scam", "zombie", "anal"--we just can't avert our eyes . . .

Zombie thread alert folks.
WOW! I GUESS SO!!!

"I see/(saw) dead people"`....... (that was the clue)

But, to those who are stupid enough to think it is a scam......there are MILLIONS of us users who KNOW it is NOT!

I had a stupid sleep doctor, too, but I immediately took control of my own therapy and have had great success for over 17 years. The key to success is taking charge of your own therapy. NOBODY knows your body as well as YOU do so it's just common sense to take charge of YOUR own therapy.....and the sooner the better!

Same here, sleep doctor wanted to give me sleep meds after my sleep study. I was against it, he then gave me an APAP with 4cm pressure, no titration study was done. So I just bought an ASV and am extremely happy with it.

My first "sleep study," consisted of them drugging me until unconscious,
(in broad daylight) and doing an EKG. I was pronounced "normal",
probably because I was in an HMO, and they were extreme tightwads.
I suffered for several additional years, and several more incompetent quacks
before getting a correct diagnosis and my first cpap.
My titration study was a real eye-opener--I woke up feeling RESTED--
for the fist time in years!

Whether it's a scam or not, I don't care. I feel ten thousand times better with CPAP than without. If I accidentally fall asleep on the couch without my CPAP, I wake up feeling horrible. Sleeping without my CPAP is just not an option for me.
