Newbie Sleepyhead graphfelt great first weeks now feel crap

Post by ru2on » Mon Jan 08, 2018 4:25 am

Fairly new to this, am using Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset for her , head gear swapping between a resmed p10 pillow and a dreamwear under nose cushion when my nose gets too irritated from the p10. ( i have Rosacea and its hell on it)

My sleep study said i had severe Apnea, i was getting to the point where my sleep was hugely interrupted and i always woke up feeling worse than when i went to bed

The first few weeks on CPAP i felt fantastic waking up early full of energy. No more headache, no more intense dizziness when getting out of bed. No more burnt Oesophagus during the night or waking up choking. But gradually the dizziness is returning, feel crap and having broken sleep.

Last night apparently i had my first ever night with Zero Events (edit this apparently i have had one other night with zero) .. and yet it was a shocking night and i woke up dizzy and feeling terrible and then fell back to sleep till nearly lunch time, which is crazy. (although as i do some night shifts my sleep patterns are sometimes erratic)
I changed my head gear during the night as my nose hurt but then felt like i was getting huge amounts of whooshing air with the Dreamwear cushion.

I hope i am uploading the images from Sleepyhead (really have no idea what I'm doing) can anyone see why i woke up feeling so bad on Zero events? Hopefully am uploading some of last nights and the night before and my sleep study report

I see nothing on your posted report that would explain the unwanted symptoms you experienced.

Do you take any medications of any kind? If so, what?

Anything change in your routine?

Was there a change in shifts between the first few weeks of feeling great and the most recent bad days?

I notice Karen at Padacheek now has a liner for the P10.
It might help.

Thanks for looking at the graphs

No change in my routine have been suffering from back pain which is probably not helping

No medication at the moment. I took stillnox/ambien as a last resort at midnight when I had my sleep study as I was not going to fall asleep in that environment without it.

I was very sceptical about Sleep Apnea did not associate my issues with it untill having a Minor procedure. The Anesthetist told me I had obstructed breathing throughout the entire procedure and said I should see a sleep specialist.

Have had bad insomnia for years but felt so excited when I first started using the Cpap a couple of months ago as it seemed to be fixing so many things I don't know why I'm starting to have problems re dizzy, sore throat, interrupted sleep etc again. It's 630am here and last night I got 4 hours sleep so Insomnia is becoming a problem again.

Took me two hours to work out how to download upload organise screenshot Sleepyhead and Data etc I guess I was unreasonably pinning my expectations on an instant miracle answer!

No change in shifts I do one week on one week off and during my week have two night shifts. I do end up very tired at the end of my 7 days on.

When I don't get my required number of hours of sleep for whatever reason then I simply feel like crap.
Sometimes I have a headache with it or something nausea or sometimes just want to nap all day.

While insomnia is often associated with sleep apnea there's a long list of reasons for the cause of insomnia and sleep apnea is but one of that long list.

I know we would like for our cpap therapy to fix all our insomnia issues but the cold hard fact of life is that cpap can only fix insomnia when the sole cause of that insomnia is sleep apnea. Rarely is insomnia that simple.

Night before last I got night quite 4 hours of sleep and I felt like crap all day yesterday but the reason for my lack of sleep had nothing to do with sleep apnea. There wasn't a damn thing my machine could do to fix it either.

I wish that I could say that I spotted some little something on your report that points to a potential cause for the insomnia because it would make fixing it a lot easier. Easier because you would have something to target and try to fix.
Maybe mask issues are a factor.
You did well for a while and now you aren't doing so great. Maybe take a hard look at other potential culprits on that insomnia causing list.
