The Dishwasher Safe Water Chamber for H5i™ Heated Humidifier
The Dishwasher Safe Water Chamber for H5i™ Heated Humidifier
Hello, Happy new year. Its a while since I last checked in here. My sincerely apology. By the way, I need your help. How to ope the Dishwasher Safe Water Chamber for H5i™ Heated Humidifier. just got it online yesterday and need to disassemble it . The middle inner part is the hardest and trickiest one. Please, help if you have similar model. Here is the instruction from the ResMed manufacturer.
To remove the chamber from the H5i humidifier and disassemble it:
1) Slide the latch on the front of the H5i humidifier to release the humidifier lid.
2) Open the humidifier lid.
3) Remove the water chamber.
4) Drain any excess water in the chamber.
5) Unlatch the four clips on the sides of the chamber.
6) Take apart the chamber by removing the lid and inner plate.
Please Note: The inner plate of the water chamber can be removed, however it may take some force to be removed the first time. Once removed for the first time it will be easier in the future.
I have tried 'some force' without success. I am worried, strong force might not be helpful and would end up damaging the humidifier.
Thanks.
Pascal

Re: The Dishwasher Safe Water Chamber for H5i™ Heated Humidifier
I noticed on mine that the plastic sleeve around the metal base slips down making it hard to open or close the Tabs.
On my chamber, I use my thumb to push the sleeve upwards towards lid and with my other hand pull the Tabs or push when closing.

Hello freetimecreations, just curious, did you ever experience difficulties in opening up that dishwashable water chamber when it was brand new?freetimecreations wrote:I noticed on mine that the plastic sleeve around the metal base slips down making it hard to open or close the Tabs.

It is tough to remove that inner rim piece the first time - I use gentle pressure loosening all the corners a bit at a time and then remove it. It does get easier the more familiar you become with it.

My humidifier was used and if it was new I'd worry those tabs break off. I do what I said in post #2
I hand wash so plastic does not craze and have not removed the trim piece user "brucelegs" mentions.

Re: The Dishwasher Safe Water Chamber for H5i™ Heated Humidifier
This unit is quiet different in material makeup and the manufacturer labels it as being a dishwashable piece. I bought it new for $32 and is expected to last up to two years. Since I am a little lazy some days, I like the dishwasher tod the job for me. There is a sanitalization feature on the dishwasher which I think, will even be helpful.freetimecreations wrote:I bought my humidifier used, so I can't answer how it was new. But I will say I'm worried about those four tabs breaking so I do what I said in post #2
It is very sturdy unit but I hand wash vs using the dishwasher because I believe eventually the plastic will craze. I have not removed the trim piece user "brucelegs" talks about.
I'm extra careful because my equipment is an out of pocket expense.
