Transcend EZEX Auto- Universal Hose Adapter issue

Post by Ursus » Fri Dec 08, 2017 8:19 pm

I have a new Transcend Auto by Somnetics. I purchased it online. I pushes air OK but exhalation is labored.

There is a 'universal hose adapter' that connects to the air output. There is a piece of rubber or chad in the adapter that looks like it needs to be removed before it will allow air to get back into the device via a tiny tube. I believe it makes back pressure to signal the machine to stop pushing air and make it easier to exhale. When I push the adapter onto the CPAP it does not puncture the chad. So I'm wondering if there is some special tool needed to open this tiny channel.
Does any one know about this ? If this topic has been covered by previous posts please redirect me.

Currently I use a ResMed but wanted something lighter for travel.
