questions about the air touch f20 full face mask

Post by springman946 » Thu Nov 30, 2017 8:37 pm

hello i just got my new air touch full face mask and I love it which has memory foam on the cushion i was just wondering I always washed my previous mask before I got this mask to rid it of facial oils the question is would I damage the memory foam if I washed it in warm soapy water?

yes tried the memory foam. All it did was give me bags under my eyes. But a perfect seal. Just take one of the wipes you get at the cpap store and wipe it every night. Thats all I did, Have the so-clean--but u cannot put the foam one in there.

You can either use CPAP wipes, or baby wipes from some place like Walmart.

If you have the Air Fir F20 mask, it may turn it yellow. If you have the Air Touch F20, It may destroy the memory foam seal. I would go by what the manufacturer recommends.

That would make sense, the part that gets dirty CAN'T go into the machine that CAN'T clean it. Priceless.

Never fear you had the money to waste on the NO Clean, just buy a dozen new masks, at least they will be useful, for someone. Jim

Thank you for posting this question. Had I not seen the replies, I would have happily popped the whole F20 mask in my SoClean. (Yes, I own one, and before the trolls descend, it boils down to either you believe the SoClean testing or not. So trolls, keep it to yourselves.)

Thanks for saving me the heartache. CPAP wipes it is.

Had any one tried to put their F20 in the SOClean? If so what happened, how long did it take to see a problem? Rebel at heart here.

I got the AirTouch f20 when it first came out and there were no warnings on using it with the SoClean, just not to submerge it in water. I’m on my third mask at this point and have been cleaning them with the SoClean about 5 days a week.

Was about to purchase a replacement because it’s on sale and saw the warning message for the first time.

I believe there is something to the warning after having my first two masks fail in the same way. About 6-7 months in both masks developed a leak in the memory foam in the exact same spot, where the mask meets the bridge of your nose but a bit towards the right nostril.

If you think that 6-7 months is a good amount of time to get out of a mask then this really wouldn’t be a problem. Also, you could probably just use wipes and put it in the SoClean once a week to see if that prolongs the life of the mask.

I’d love to know why the SoClean is bad for the memory foam and if the new UV cleaner would be better so that you could clean the entire mask and not just the headgear.

I just got this mask yesterday. My DME said not to wash it because of the memory foam, but to just clean with an alcohol free baby wipe. They will send me a new mask every month.

I wash mine with face wash and blot the foam with a washrag, then let it air dry.
