Airsense 10 acting up?

Post by AMK » Thu Nov 30, 2017 5:16 pm

My airsense 10, which is 2.5 years old, acted strange last night. I have autostart on, so I put on my mask and it started. But it was doing a weird thing where it was just blowing, with no EPR. I turned it off and back on and it continued to do that. I was exhausted and fell asleep anyway. When I woke up this morning it was acting normally, meaning I was unaware of the air, no sense of blowing.

I looked at Sleepyhead this morning and saw this: https://gyazo.com/6c90b7a8ca7e43e92ecd4b4a5d92e032
I was puzzled why the machine didn't seem to start until about 45 seconds in, but I have looked at past graphs and they are all similar. (As an aside, note the 22 second long event that didn't get counted as anything). The pressure's flat in this snippet because that's my initial pressure and the ramp doesn't start till the machine thinks I'm asleep. Supposedly my AHI was zero but I felt like rubbish this morning, just sick with fatigue.

So I'm wondering about this blowing business. My insurance only pays for a new machine every 5 years; do these machines generally last that long?

They will usually last a lot longer than 5 years for the most part. Of course there's always the outlier trouble maker who wants to die sooner.

What I would do if it were me would be go in and reset the machine to all the factory defaults...unplug it...plug it back in and verify the factory default settings and then go change the settings back the way I had them and see what happens.
Or you could just try the unplug and plug back in thing to reset the internal software...and if no joy then try the factory reset thing.

Might also consider taking it off Auto ramp and see if that is the potential culprit.
