New here

Post by quiltybe » Wed Nov 22, 2017 6:06 pm

I am a new Cpap user so came here for moral and technical support.. What I found was a forum who had turned on one of the people who would post here.. I looked back on old posts to see if I could find the offense but couldn't.. I did find a few who posted with large pink lettering on EVERY post saying that this person didn't know what he was talking about so don't listen to him.. Or to check every thing he says cause he was not correct most of the time...How would you people feel if that was happening to you? Only AMESS said why don't we treat him with kindness and maybe he will respond in kind-- but that wasn't happening was it, so now he's banned.. I am in awe of how far our moral compass has strayed . This was a human being, not to your liking perhaps but a human being none the less. Shame on all of you.....

I think your moral compass has strayed! Did you not read his utterly disgusting language? Did you not see how many times he posted something that wasn't correct and never once admitted it? Did you not see how he completely disrupted the Forum? As Johnny Goodman (the owner of this site) said, he was given many warnings before he was finally "asked" to leave.

You are entitled to your opinion. Do know that 99% of the members of this Forum disagree with it.

YOU do NOT get to come into my house and tell ME how i should feel!

just HOW FAR back into his posting history did you go?

i'll leave it to others to explain the disruption he caused on this board.

meantime, take your SHAME, fold it until it's all corners and put it where the sun don't shine.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

He was turning this forum into an online version of the Jerry Springer show. Just my opinion.

Since his posts were deleted, you are spared much of the ugliness that sprang from that singularly hateful mind.
Be grateful that you missed it; and welcome to the forum!
I can assure you that he always gave way worse than he got--and got away with it for much too long.

When I joined here recently, I didn't know wth was going on to be honest. I tried to be nice to the guy at first, but quickly noticed that he started dropping comments right after me on virtually every thread I posted on. He appeared to be trying to bait me into getting into it with him. Didn't work,...I just continued to ignore him.

The guy was ruining the entire board, and confusing a lot of newbies. Don't worry though, I'm sure he'll be back at some point under a different moniker. Those types just can't seem to help themselves.

Before judging an entire community of people that banded together against someone that was repeatedly hateful, cursing, threatening, and demeaning *everyone* that responded to him, perhaps you should learn a little bit about what actually happened.

Shame on YOU.

You DO understand I hope that this forum was never moderated before? That the owner believes in free speech and expects adults to behave reasonably, even if they disagree? That for many yrs a whole lot of disagreements and occasional nastiness have been par for the course here?

So why do you think the owners decided - at this time and not before - to finally put a mod in place, however 'lightly' the moderation is expected to be?

The banned individual was not only deserving, but unfortunately one of a few who in the last couple of yrs went out of their way to bring down the forum... maybe taking some sick kind of pride in doing that and what's left of it (a once absolutely thriving place not only highly respected for OSA and Cpap knowledge and help, but also the generally terrific freedom of intellectual members and others who could really get into all kinds of off-topic stuff without serious rudeness or foul language). It's very sad what's happened here but don't blame the wrong people and dont uphold the troublemakers without knowing a lot more than you apparently do.

I am sorry .... as Pugsy say ... attack the message ... not the nessenger.

"shove it up you a......" is not a very kind thing to say to someone.
