Newbie looking for help

Post by Eames22a » Sun Nov 19, 2017 9:08 pm

Need help not getting answers. I took my sleep test back end of August. I was at an ahí of 60. I got a prescribed fixed pressure of 10. They got me down to a10 ahi during study. Still had mild apnea so they raised pressure to 12. Now my avg ahi is around 10.4. I know it’s lot better then 60. I feel a difference and my bp and pulse have dropped. I would love to get below the normal ahi of 5. I see so many ppl on cpap and their numbers are between 1-3 ahi. I’m not having lot of mask leaks. I wear a full face mask and have a resmed auto set 10. I was prescribed one pressure for OSA AND CPAP and not APAP .been back to dr twice. They said well your at a 10 ahi still, maybe u gotta do another sleep test. Just going round and round. Any tips, help would be great.

The AutoSet is a model machine that has 2 modes of operation...cpap/fixed pressure mode and APAP/auto adjusting pressure mode.
The DME just set it to cpap mode...you can change it to apap mode if you wish.

Need to know what the AHI you are seeing is composed of though before you go changing the pressures or mode.

So how much in each event category for the AHI of 10.4 that you are seeing?
3 categories so what is the hourly average in each?
Central apnea (and if using SleepyHead it will be called ClearAirway apnea) Index
Obstructive apnea Index
Hyponea Index
