Is it possible that an oral appliance for OSA can fracture teeth?
On one site I read that a possible side effect is "Further damage to periodontally involved teeth."
This year when trying an appliance I experienced one upper pre-molar with a stress fracture, and the molar behind it was infected , and both were removed.
I am some what suspicious that the appliance caused this, I will discuss it with the sleep dentist. I guess I won't be able to know for certain until another one breaks.

Go to https://myapnea.org/ and register there so you can post. There are two sleep medicine dentists who frequent this forum who hopefully will see your post and respond.
Sorry about what you experienced. That sounds dreadful.

Re: Can oral appliance for OSA break your teeth?
My brother, my husband, and I have all used the oral appliance, and I'm the only one of the three of us that had dental issues from it. I used it for about 6.5 years. I didn't experience any fractured teeth, though. My problem was that my teeth were slowly shifting in my mouth, until I needed braces to fix them. That's when I started using a cpap instead.Steve12345 wrote:Is it possible that an oral appliance for OSA can fracture teeth?

I hope your dentist can help figure out if the appliance is the culprit in your case, or find the cause if it's not the appliance.
