Noisy Resmed Airsense 10
Noisy Resmed Airsense 10
I've been using a Resmed S9 for 7+ years and last week switched to a new Airsense 10. The new machine is noisy compared to the old one. As the pressure goes up during the night I hear a whooshing noise coming from the machine. It's definitely from the machine and not from the mask and it's a constant air whooshing sound that does not vary with my breathing. I don't recall that much noise from the S9. In fact if I wake up in the middle of the night the noise keeps me up. Granted it's not a LOUD noise, just noisier than my sleep will allow.
Has anyone had the same experience or is this just a bad A10? I have a couple of 20 sec videos I'll figure out how to post that will illustrate the problem.

My Airsense 10 does the same thing, I just turn on a fan to counter the noise. Now all is good...good luck.

Re: Noisy Resmed Airsense 10
My AirSense 10 makes similar sounds, although it is hard to judge if it is the same volume.
The sound level is very dependent upon the pressure.

Also you can sit the machine lower than the bed and that will help...
The fan is a perfect solution for me...

Re: Noisy Resmed Airsense 10
Mine seems to be a little noisier than it was. One interesting thing is it can get really noisy if the tank is not properly inserted. Even pressing tank in will not fix it no matter how hard you push. Pulling the tank out and reinserting it does fix it. Appears to be a problem with the internal flexible seals.

Re: Noisy Resmed Airsense 10
Thanks for the reply's. Seems odd that the new model would be noisier than the the previous generation. I'll have to fire up the old S9 for a comparison - I don't recall it being this noisy.
Not sure a fan is the right answer for me but if it works for you that's great. I was thinking about the tank seals also - have to experiment. Anyone try it with the side cover instead of the humidifier tank? I wonder if it seals differently and/or sounds different?

Try putting the machine on a soft pad or cloth on that table and then covering it with a towel of t-shirt. It will be quiet and you'll get better mileage out of your filters.

Life is a dream…if I'm wearing my Resmed AirTouch F20 cushion and my Autosense 10 Autoset isn't being hijacked by some dung-eating state security troll.

mine does the same thing. I actually find the noise soothing, lol.

Re: Noisy Resmed Airsense 10
I put a towel under mine as well. Helps to dampen the sound a bit. Plus the pressure makes a big difference. I swapped machines with my wife so she has the Airsense 10 and I am using a Respironics 560. The A10 noise was almost nonexistent at her lower pressure.Suenyo wrote:Try putting the machine on a soft pad or cloth on that table and then covering it with a towel of t-shirt. P.S. I tested two A10s and three 560s and the noise difference was consistent with all the machines.
