Need to buy Trilogy100 -

Post by Kristine1967 » Wed Mar 22, 2017 9:39 am

Looking to buy (maybe) Trilogy100 for the hubby. Attention grayghost4 if you're out there I hear you are a good resource...

He developed respiratory need after C1- C3 laminectomy and suboccipital crainectomy. This may be temporary we hope, or could now be a permanent thing. Pulmonolgist wants to send him home w/the Trilogy since what he is using currently is the hospital version of this home machine.

Thoughts, ideas, comments welcome. ** We are cash pay ** no insurance involved (we use a health share ministry). We have several companies that have rejected us outright to rent machine as we have no insurance - our cash isn't good enough for them (Lincare!!)!

Thanks,
Kristine

That's going to be a difficult machine to find. Very special and of course very high dollar.

You might call up Mark at secondwindcpap.com
http://www.secondwindcpap.com/Used_CPAP.html
and see if he has any ideas where you could find a Trilogy. Be sure and ask for Mark. I don't think they have one in inventory but you never know plus he does some work with a donated machine organization that might be able to help you find that very special and high dollar machine.

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

In my area, you are not allowed to BUY a Trilogy. Trust me, I've tried. I have to rent mine and have been doing so since 2010. Blech.

Grayghost -- if you're able to get a hold of any, let me know. Price is a serious issue but if you get some, I'd love the chance to at least say I can't afford it!!

Oh, and this is important...

Please give OP first crack at any you might get. I have one so their need is greater than mine for sure!

I was surprised to see they aren't *that* much more than an ASV - so which one is really priced too high?

New ASV @$4500, new Trilogy $5800
Phillips 960 AutoSV Paving Brick, Phillips Dreamwear Mask - Nothing is working.
Diagnosis of crappy sleep, desats under 80, maybe UARS

Up until a few minutes ago the cheapest Trilogy I ever saw priced online was over $15k.
Rental monthly was usually in the thousands.

As a current patient, I can attest to the cost of these things. I was told that patients are not allowed (bad word but the one I was given) to purchase the Trilogy. It was (still is for me) a perpetual rental. For many years, my DME charged $1500 a month rental and Medicare paid 1495 of it. That rental has been reduced in half in the last few years, but it's still outrageous.
