Next time turn the pie chart off....Preferences/Appearance tab and remove the check mark for "show pie chart".

Good job.

Hi again,
Last night wasn't so great again, it seems like I'm all over the place, AHI of 15 the first night, then 4.9, 7 and now 10. That can't be normal can it? I didn't use the chin strap last night like I did the night before, and I woke up many times with a horribly dry mouth, and my snoring was worse... looks like I'll have to use the strap whether I want to or not
Here's the results from night before last: https://imgur. com/a/40FFp (sorry about the broken link again, still waiting on registration activation ugh)

Couple more questions... What is periodic breathing? My Dreamstation deems it important enough to give info on, it doesn't show much, so it must be something... Am I having a leak problem? it looks all over the place, but the overall results say I have a 0% large leak rate.

I think you need a minimum pressure adjustment upwards. The machine needs a better head start holding the airway open so it can get to where it needs to go quickly enough.

Periodic Breathing is just a general waxing and waning of the breathing air flow that lasts at least 2 minutes.
It can be important when there is a certain pattern along with central apnea events inter spaced within the breaths and if there is a LOT of it.
I don't see yours including a lot of centrals/CAs and it's not lasting all that long anyway and you are reporting not sleeping well so there is a good chance that a lot of what you are see is sleep/wake/junk....so I don't know that I would worry about it at this time.

This is most likely what you are seeing flagged as PB and if it is then it's what I call boring PB and means nothing.

So should I just continue as I have been and see what happens? Or should I call my Dr about changing the minimum pressure? I did wake up a lot last night, I'm not sure what it was, but it seems like I was waking up from a burst of pressure being added, and feeling like I hadn't been taking it in. Waking up is pretty normal for me, I rarely get a full night of sleep where I don't wake up often.

I wouldn't wait if it were me.
I don't believe in spending inordinate amounts of time at a setting that is obviously sub optimal hoping the the results will miraculously change.
3 or 4 nights is sufficient to establish a pattern of results.

Now I don't go changing things based on just one night either...but I see no sense in spending 2 weeks at an obvious sub optimal setting.

I don't think that you are going to need a huge increase though...I think maybe around 7 cm minimum will do a much better job.

My AHI is still hovering around 10 for the past few nights, I did message my doctor about changing my minimum pressure, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. My apap has adjusted to start my pressure at 6.4 every time I turn it on, but I'm still getting bad results. Is there anything else I can do while I'm waiting for a response from my Dr? Could it be the small leaks I'm getting? I've been using a chin strap to keep my mouth closed, but I do still wake up with a very dry mouth even using the strap. Could the leaks be affecting my AHI? I have a FFM coming hopefully today, so I'll try that tonight and see if it makes a difference with my mouth leaks. Any other suggestions?

CVS pharmacy has it listed on their web site. It may be available at your local CVS store.

MoodyMollypending wrote:My second night was much better than the first! AHI of 4.9. I did get some tiny leaks, and my nose is sore from the mask, but hopefully things will keep getting better from here!

Results from last night, I left off the snore chart, I only had one event of snoring -
https://imgur. com/a/2aiqa
I use Moleskin cut outs on my nasal pillows, it removed soreness for me and also reduced leaks, which had a secondary effect of reducing the soreness even more since reduced leaks meant I could put the mask on a little looser. a lot of people have mouth leak issues like you mentioned... it usually means you stopped breathing, but it can also just be pressure equalization... IE the pressure outside of your mouth is lower then the mouth/nasal cavity pressure. personally I changed to a hybrid mask to solve that (nasal pillows with a mouth only mask), but people solve it in all sorts of ways including but not necessarily limited to chin straps, taping your mouth closed, dental/sports mouth guards (the type that don't hinge/open, so can block air and keep your mouth closed), "tappap", and cervical collars to prevent mouth opening. I tried many, the hybrid mask is what worked for me.
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"
