Airsense10autoset vs. airsense 10 for her

Post by yankees789 » Tue Nov 07, 2017 1:40 pm

Has anyone found that the algorithm for her gives worse AHI readings compared to standard algorithm?
Was using standard one and AHI usually around 1.0 or less. Used the for her mode and ranged from 3-7AHI. Only used for 4 days Not much of a time but still wondering anyone else see this.
My pressures and leak rates were about the same with both.

Thanks

My experience was that the for her algorithm means that the machine's pressure won't go any higher than around 13. I had to set it to the standard algorithm so the pressures can go high enough to address all events. One thing I noticed was that it took me at least a week to adjust to the standard. The way the pressure is applied is sufficiently different that it disturbed my sleep at first.

You can always go back to thr regular autoset algorythm...the "for her" doesn't work for everyone.

AutoSet for Her mode
Delivers therapeutic responses tailored to the characteristics of female OSA patients. The AutoSet for Her is similar to ResMed’s AutoSet algorithm with the following modifications:
Reduced rate of pressure increments designed to help prevent arousals.
Slower pressure decays
Treats apneas up to 12 cm H2O and continues to respond to flow limitation and snore up to 20 cm H2O.
Minimum pressure that adjusts according to the frequency of apneas:
If two apneas occur within a minute, the pressure reached in response to the second apnea will become the new minimum treatment pressure until the next treatment session.

Indicated for the treatment of OSA in patients (female patients with mild to moderate OSA when using AutoSet for Her mode) weighing more than 66 lb (>30 kg)
