I had to travel Monday and had to be up early, so I packed my machine the night before. I slept about 5 hours without it and got up in time to leave.
It was a restless night and I woke up feeling awful. Had a headache all day I couldn't get rid of and rested most of Monday when I got to my destination. However, it was nice to be comfortable in bed, I could sleep however I wanted and was comfortable.
Last night I slept with the machine and had a restless night because the mask kept waking me up - but no headache - yet. Meetings all day today and I will need several pots of coffee to keep going.
Into my 4th month now, and it seems I feel awful with or without the machine. I am waiting until the end of the month to see if anything is gained by my 3rd sleep study, but it appears I may just have to choose my poison and forget ever feeling rested again.
I'm not looking for comments or suggestions, just wanted to vent.

Well, I'm going to comment anyway. Apart from the fact you have evidence that Cpap works (no headaches, if nothing else), has it occurred to you that the rest of us 'know' ourselves well too, but have taken the giant leap on any given night to actually, just for the heck of it, try a suggestion from others who've benefitted - just on faith anyhow, whether or not we're certain it won't work for us? And discovered that it actually helped? What have you got to lose by doing so? Just do 'it' (pick a fix) if for no other reason than you will humor it/us for once even if you're sure it's a waste of time. What if it were to work? Would that someone make you 'less than' by having tried it?

Max, maybe it is time for you to take a step back for a while, as was suggested in another thread. You are drowning in a sea of negativity. It makes no difference how well this therapy COULD be for you because you're looking for problems and when they occur, letting them set the tone. Sure, the mask might wake you up some but instead of saying "ok, well, I'll just go back to sleep" you obsess about how it woke you up.
There are a lot of us that, for whatever reason, wake up a LOT. Whether it's the mask, the hose, pain, stress or a ghost - it happens to a lot of us. I wake up, FULLY, at least 5-6 times a night. And for a while there, I could NOT go back to sleep PERIOD. But I realized it was my own doing as I was obsessing over the awakenings, then getting mad so of course I couldn't go back to sleep. I came up with a plan to overcome it and while I still wake up, I'm not having as much trouble going back to sleep.
I truly believe you will never succeed at this until you change your "doom and gloom" disposition about everything. Yes, there will be challenges, but you talk like you're the ONLY one that has these issues. You're not. A lot of us have had similar problems and unless you make up your mind that you CAN and WILL overcome them, you never will.

Why was your machine packed up the night before???????????????? No excuses. You should use it every night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I travel FREQUENTLY , so don't give me any lame reasons for not using it every night.
