IF that was a rare awakening, and IF I was feeling any benefit from treatment (after 3 months), it would be easy enough to dust myself off and get right back to it. I understand exactly what you mean, and I am usually the fighter, but I feel like I have been for 3 months and still am fighting for no benefit.

How long can the average person fight - with no gain - before they tire of fighting? Now add pathetic sleep and no energy to that average person.

I will stick with it until the end of the month - after my 3rd sleep study. If they see I am awakening because of the mask but with "treated" breathing problems, I'm done. If I have not adjusted AT ALL to a FFM with a front mount hose by then, it's not going to happen.

If they find I'm now awakening from something else that's treatable, I will get it treated and then MAYBE see some benefit.

I'm confused. Your equipment says you are using Dreamwear and that comes out on the top of your head. Not sure how that could get wrapped around you. Are you using a different hose and just didn't update the equipment?

I had some of those problems last year when winter first started. I'd pull the mask off and just not be able to figure it out, so went back to sleep. I just have an alternate mask available to plug into my hose and that resolved the problem. Since then, I switch out between the masks periodically. I don't know what it has to do with the restlessness, but I stopped having mask problems when I did that.

You all seem to think I'm making stuff up about what will or won't work - that's not true. I know myself very well, and I can foresee what certain things will do or not do. It's exactly the reason I chose the Dreamwear mask - it's the least intrusive of all the masks and it keeps the hose out of the way. It would still be my first and only mask if I didn't need such high pressure to treat my breathing issue.

Have you tried lowering your pressure for awhile and using the dreamwear mask? Perhaps it would be better for you to start with a lower pressure and master sleeping with the mask and machine. Then slowly raise the pressure over time until you get the ideal treatment. By the time you get back to the higher pressures, you will have learned to sleep with the mask, figured out the hose issues, etc.

You are already know you like that mask, so it sounds like you need to find a way to make that mask work.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?
