New to CPAP, breaking down sleepyhead data

Post by Absent » Thu Oct 19, 2017 4:15 pm

Hey guys, i'm only a few weeks into CPAP. I started with Nasal pillows and discovered only a few days in that it wasn't going to work out. I've since switched to a Resmed F20 memory foam face mask, and to be honest i really like it. I'm using a resmed s10. My small back story is that I had a take home sleep study through Singular Sleep, and it came back with OSA. I took awhile to finally follow up with a local sleep doctor, and because all I had was the print out sleep data it was a mostly useless visit. He wrote the script for CPAP, and I was on my way. He wrote a script for 5-10 pressure. Looking at the data I've consistently below a 5AHI, however, if I have a 3 or above i'm still waking up with headaches. What I've done since getting the new mask is change the pressure range 7-14, as i'm hoping to zero in on a good point.

I'll like some help interpreting the data and looking at what I should do.

This is from Today, I work strange shifts at times so this is the most recent data.

Let me know if I should post different data, or change the size of the post or anything. Thanks so much!

-Brad

We don't need both pressure lines...pick one or the other.
We don't need the AHI graph...we can see the AHI on the left and any clustering on the events graph on top.
In place of those graphs you might add the Flow Limitation graph.
No need to redo this image though. I mention it for future images that you might share.

You might consider using imgur to post your images if you are going to be doing very many of them.

how to organize the graphs

see this thread for some hints on size and making images clickable so we can click on it and enlarge it.

So you end up with a nice size image that people can click on and make it bigger if needed instead of the huge image you have that has part of it off screen.
Like this one of mine. I didn't include the flow limitation graph on this one. It's never exciting anyway.

Now for interpreting what you see.
Have you read my tutorial?

And RobySue has a good one and she's a better writer than I am

Also do you have the provider manual? If not, here it is. A lot of the stuff you see in SH is explained in the manual.

Do some reading and come back with specific questions on anything that needs clarification and we will try to clear things up.

This report you shared...looks pretty darn good. I don't see anything in urgent need for a change.

The clustering you mentioned...you could probably break up the clusters with slightly more minimum pressure. It's not urgently needed but might be worth trying just to see if breaking up the clusters reduced the headaches or not.
Maybe 1 to 1.5 cm more going by your median average number.
