Pad-a-Cheek liner with F&P Simplus mask?

Post by cby1 » Wed Oct 18, 2017 12:52 pm

Anybody tried the pad-a-cheek liner for the F&P Simplus Large mask FOR LEAKS? - I don't have a comfort issue - just a high pressure leak issue.

When I used the Simplus mask, I used mask liners I made out of an old, well-used tee shirt.

Thanks Okie. Did the liners cut down on leaks? I know some folks use them primarily for comfort - I'm trying to minimize the leaks at my high pressures.

BTW, what mask are you using now, and how to you like it (in general, but especially leak-wise)?

Thanks much.

I never really had bad leaks. I kept my mask pretty snug, as I do all of my masks. I find I get less leakage that way. The liner prevents the leaks from making noise (mask farts).

You know someone donated a brand new still in package Padacheek mask liner a while back.
I don't remember if it was for a nasal mask or a full face mask or what kind of either.
Let me check and see what it is and if it will work with your Simplus I will send it to you.
Give me a bit to go dig out the donations box and look through it and see what kind it is.

Well heck, I can't find it right now. I might have included it with the last mask I sent out to someone and just forgot.

I am sorry but I can't really comment one way or another from personal experience...I don't use a full face mask and have never used a mask liner.

Now I can speak as to the quality of the Padacheek products as I do have some of the other products and love them.

I've always been curious about mask liners. Do they actually stop the leak or just muffle/disperse the escaping air? I suspect the latter, but would love it if it were the former.

I use this combination and it has been the best thing out there for me. I don't have to place the liner just so every night, the leaks are very well muffled, and it's comfortable. I am actually buying my husband a PAC liner for his Simplus (which I also turned him on to, even though he used XPAP for over a decade before me!). I wouldn't say that there are any drawbacks.

My only remaining issue is itching on the outer sides of my nose no matter what I wear with the Simplus. It's a tickle from air movement.

Sometimes they do both. When I was staying at my daughter's house this summer, I had to make mask liners tube use while I was there. They keep their house warmer than we do. I was sweating so much, I had a hard time getting my mask to seal. The mask liner allowed the mask to seal better, and helped with mask carts when the mask did leak. If you put moisturizer on your face, the liner will help to get a better seal.

Thanks all. That sounds promising. I have to cinch my mask up pretty tight to ninimize leaks, so there is in fact a comfort component as well.

Gonna give it a try. Thanks Pugsy for looking- if you find that spare PAC, please do send it on!
