Re: New Poll about polls, from a Pole.

Can we put this on hold for 10 more days? By then I'll have my Festivus pole up and can begin the official airing of the grievances!

Re: Poll: What Mask type do you use?

Nuance Pro nasal pillows here. I wanted to try nasal pillows first before going with nasal mask or full face mask to see if the minimal face coverage would work. I'm not really claustrophobic, but I figure the less hardware on my head, the more comfortable I'd be. Thankfully no issues at all with it...

Re: Fatigue, Brain Fog, & Recovery

I will also vouch for modafinil. I started taking it a couple weeks before I received my aPAP, and it has done wonders! My psychiatrist knew I had the take-home sleep study and was just waiting for the DME to set my machine appointment, so she went ahead and prescribed it until I could start treatme...

Re: I officially belong here!

I think I might be one of the few who is happy and excited about this diagnosis, I have been so exhausted and run down for a while now and this offers hope of feeling better again lol I was definitely happy for the diagnosis and very excited when I picked up my machine at the DME. I knew it meant I...

Re: One Month Later...

Thanks--I'm not really seeing anything like that in mine. My higher spikes lately seem to be more towards the middle, but on the earlier half of the night. I guess it'll remain one of my great unsolved mysteries for now lol. On a side note, the last 3 nights have been my best ever, so maybe I'm hope...

Sorry, no, nothing like that here. I wish you luck in getting it figured out though!

Re: One Month Later...

Lots of possibilities and plausibles and yes, the only way to know if REM events might need more pressure is with a sleep study in a lab and even then it's a one off night where needed data might not be available if you didn't get enough REM to accurate test the pressures. I had it happen to me and...

One Month Later...

Just over 1 month into therapy, and I had my follow up with the sleep doctor this morning. I've been 100% compliant since starting, and he's happy with my progress. AHI is averaging right around 5, though the last 2 consecutive nights have seen the best numbers ever (2.5 and 2.6). I haven't uploaded...

Re: Did your Dreamstation wifi card come with unit?

Mine came with the cellular card so the data can be tranmitted daily to the DME and sent to insurance to prove compliance so they keep paying for treatment. No wifi capabilities at all, but it does have built in bluetooth I can use to connect to my phone with the DreamMapper software.

Re: Warning about Vitamin B cancer risks

Seems like everything causes cancer these days. Might as well just live and be happy while we can. Genetics plays a big part anyway, and there's not much we can do about that. I take a B-Complex every day as part of my Crohn's treatment.

Re: marijuana and sleep apnea

Sigh.... I do wish that the people in the Bible Belt where I live weren't so fervent in their anti wacky weed war. Though Arkansas just passed medical marijuana okay not long ago. Maybe Missouri will come on board one of these days with at least medical okay. Nebraska--probably never, ever getting ...

Re: Nasal mask better for side sleeper?

That was my biggest fear when I decided to try the nasal pillows before a mask. I sleep on my back and both sides, but thankfully (knock on wood) I haven't had any issues with leaks or the pillows coming off at all. Yet.

Re: Low AHI but still fatigued

Thanks both of you for sharing your experiences, I'll be trying armodafinil (a modafinil variant) in a few days. Hoping I get good results as well! I've not tried the armodafinil, but it's supposed to have an even longer half-life than regular modafinil. I get a good 12 hrs boost from it, and I've ...

In barely used condition, must take the entire set.

I no longer have patience to deal with it.
