Hi Midnight Strangler!

Don't worry for one split second as I appreciate very much your input! You took your own precious time and caring to warn another person. No matter what it lets a person know there are no absolutes and we need to be our own best advocate. I give all in the medical field the benefit of the doubt but at the same time I am a believer it's a team effort. I see Seniors around me struggle, some die, and feel that those who are more vigilant and on their toes and receptive of information and can in a dignified manner be their own best advocate as they go it alone in a huge health care system actually adds years onto their lives... at least that's my observation, my 2 cents worth ha! I'm going to look up terminology like ASV and be aware. Thanks in many ways for going outside yourself to bring things to one's attention I would have not otherwise!

That you would request this manual
ResMed VPAP Adapt SV

It's going to have a lot of different available settings.
I do not know if there is a cpap mode available and if there is it would be simple to just use cpap mode.

If it doesn't if you will give us a list of all the available settings in the menu along with your current settings on your Respironics machine we can figure out how to take what you have available and do some tweaking so it works like your Respironics works.
Hi Pugsy!
You are intelligent to be brave and make settings. I'll look it over thanks to your kind guidance. I am one of those who kind of steps back from something high tech but really I will print some of the manual to bring with me to the sleep center. I just hope they'll give me the time of day as I'm going to go and hope I can talk to their supply lady and see if she'll adjust it as Allina was so cruel and rude when I went there I can only hope the sleep center will make the adjustments and also do the sterilizing of my machine. It is an amazing work of technology, even heavy when you pick it up, like twice as heavy as my Respironics Auto A-Flex, or even weighs twice as much as the Respironics maybe S6 I had years ago. I saved my S6 and am going to donate that plus some extra like humidifier tank I had. So very nice of you to take the time to respond plus be willing to even follow up on things!
With My Kindest Regards,
Winfred

Keep your old machine as a backup. Most of the regulars here keep a backup.
Hi ChicagoGranny!

Thanks for sharing your advice as I've never had a backup and this way I can use the machine I now use right up until it's too expensive to repair it! Also, such a nice portrait of you! Wow! Is that style of a scarf a tradition in France? It seems I've seen that in pictures of fashion traditions in France that goes way back, a very nice classy garment. I think it's French men who instead of a traditional neck tie they will arrange a kind of scarf in their suit too but tied kind of like a neck tie is tied.

I would get the providers manual for it (Free). Forget paying to have it sterilized or set, change the filters, leave them bagged until use. clean and dry the HH, get new hose or use a spare. Wipe down outside of unit with Lysol Spray, also cords and power wart if it has one ect. DONE, a better job that you would have paid for!!! Jim
