Dr. Krakow Updates

Post by BarryKrakowMD » Wed Sep 13, 2017 4:34 pm

Just completed a TEDx talk in Albuquerque on Sept 9th on my favorite topic of "why do you wake up at night?" Delves into "complex insomnia," the relationship between sleep breathing events and chronic insomnia. Also, probably by the end of the year, we should be finishing up our randomized controlled trial comparing CPAP and ASV in the treatment of chronic insomnia. Rest wishes.

If one suffers from sleep maintenance insomnia on of the causes may be UARS - and Krakow is a believer that an ASV may be the best treatment for UARS.

roger that

but how does any xpap variation really help with UARS?
uars, like apnea, can worsen in stages of sleep with muscle paralysis which means more pressure variation (increase) is required.
