Your dinosaur isn't nearly as old as the S7 LW.
The S7 preceded the S8 series...so maybe 12 to 15 years old. I don't know exactly when the S8 models were released but they were out there and had been for some time when I started therapy 8 years ago.

Your System One is actually not a dinosaur at maybe 6 to 7 yrs of age depending on when you got it. The first System One models weren't released until late 2009 early 2010.

I think I got it in 2009 through a local medical supply place.

You probably got one of the very first System One 50 Series machines.
I started therapy in May 2009 and the Respironics M series machines were the latest and greatest at that time.
It wasn't until the late fall early winter of 2009 the System One machines were released and then originally just one model if I remember right. Wasn't until 2010 that the full range of models were released.
If you look on the bottom of the blower there is a little sticker that has an 8 digit code in tiny letters. This is the manufacture date in year/month/day format. example 200901010 would be Oct 10, 2009

So your machine does have a bit of age on it but nothing like the age of the S7.

If it works well for you, the value is high ... to you. Resale value - low to nonexistent.

Many of us like to keep a backup machine in case a machine fails. If you don't have a backup machine, you might consider buying a new or low-hours used machine. Use it as your primary machine and keep your current machine as backup.

If it's consistent with the humidifier listed in your sig, then it's two generations newer than the boat anchor the OP is trying to peddle.
