ResMed (aircurve, airsense) I dont want to see the AHI

Post by Doublev » Sat Aug 19, 2017 10:40 pm

I dont like hitting the off button in the morning and the first thing i see is the AHI. I have an aircurve 10 but i believe this is for the entire resmed line. I went into the clinical menu and I cannot find a way to turn this off. Is there a way to disable this? I sometimes will generate a few fake events before I even fall asleep (adjusting mask or doing something).. and so I know my AHI is better than what the machine says. I would rather take a few minutes at the end of the week or on a day where I feel terrible and pull it up on sleepyhead. I think showing the AHI once you wake up every day sets you up for failure and sets the tone for how you "should" feel. I try to ignore it, but it is right there..

The way mine sits on the shelf, I can't actually see the screen. I have to be awake and bending down from the front to see it.

So yes, a high tech solution like the above post-it note or moving the machine might do the trick . Or even angling the machine away from you.

+1 Use the Auto on/off feature and then you won't need to turn the machine off manually.

Like one of the many high tech solutions already suggested may I mention two more -
1. Close your eyes
2. Black electrical tape.
Alright 3. Just don't look

I not only look, I write it down.
I view those numbers as what happened last night.
Today is a new day--starting fresh.
Any residual events are what snuck through--imagine what DIDN'T happen!
