DreamWear gel mask replacement schedule

Post by silver123 » Tue Aug 15, 2017 10:04 am

I'm trying out the DreamWear Gel Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask and like it a lot. I had been using the P10, which is a great mask and the lack of ability to tighten up the back strap is really annoying since it stretches so much over time despite washing it in hot water, etc. The DreamWear is more stable for me, and any leaks are smaller and happen less often.

For anyone that has been using the DreamWear gel mask for a while. How often do you find yourself needing to replace the pillows? and the headgear (not the frame)?

Thanks for any comments!

It hasn't been released in the US all that long but I got one back when it was first released...can't remember exactly when but maybe April.
Used it every night until now. Same pillow, same headgear. Did get a smaller frame though.
So far no issues with the pillow or headgear.
Looks like it will last a long time without needing replacing.
I don't do much with it. Haven't messed with that back strap since getting it set up. Haven't even washed it.
Washed the pillow a couple of times and that's it.

But then I always get months and months and months out of nasal pillows.

It doesn't appear that it will be a high maintenance item.

It's always is a good idea to have spares of everything, maybe two parts. Save old parts of things that still have life in them. Jim

I initially got the S pillows but they caused just a little bit of pain to the insides of my nostrils. My M gel pillows arrived yesterday and were on last night. Mask leaks were up but maybe I need to adjust the back strap. I'll soon know which of the two pillows works best. One thing I do know is that with the S pillows my AHI came down and so did my RERAs. I'll run with the M pillows for the next month as they do feel more comfortable. I can see both lasting a lot longer than the Dreamwear nasal cushions.
