XXYZX - Plea ALL to IGNORE

Which is why I believe he is being PAID for his disruptive, annoying, and DANGEROUS activity.
The knowledge shared on this forum is knocking down "somebody's" bottom line-
-enough that they feel it is worth sabotage, whether it is a spambot or a troll/ bully / what-have-you.
Freedom of speech may require the the exclusion of harmful or hateful language--both of which we have seen.

Freedom of speech comes with legal responsibilities attached. One of those responsibilities involves the libel/defamation laws. Libel simply is a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a written defamation.. If it's put on this forum then surely it is public.

There are also laws involving assault (verbal) and threat with menace. Publicly threatening someone is quite simply against the law and action can be taken with police involvement.

While I've pressed the foe button for xxyzx, I've seen some of what he's published via other forum member responses and he appears to be legally culpable in both regards.

There are a number of civil and criminal cases going through the courts at the moment in the US and other parts of the world from defamatory/libelous posts people have made on Facebook. This forum is also social media and the same laws apply. I had a former student make a defamatory remark about me on a social media site. I responded and got a personal face to face apology. I would accept nothing else! His father is a well heeled medical practitioner and I could have made a lot of money out of the incident. However, money wasn't the issue and I made sure that my point was taken - you can't say this online. Eating humble pie when you've stuffed it up is a salutory learning experience. This guy certainly needed that as I wasn't the only teacher he defamed. I was the only one who took action.

If anyone here feels that they have either been threatened or defamed by xxyzx they can make this a legal matter and a court would require full disclosure of his identity. If you could afford the lawyer you could also have a good chance of shutting him down and also taking him to the cleaners financially. However, you would need to make sure that you were not guilty of the same thing.

The other thing to consider is the role of a social media outlet (this forum) in allowing this to happen. If you Google that, there are some interesting things to read.

I'm hoping that xxyzx will read this post and realise how vulnerable he's made himself.
