Sorry to hear you've had so much trouble.

Is it possible that overnight the mask slipped a tiny bit and pressed against your eyeball? I've had that happen.

Is it also not possible that you could try other masks to find one that works better for you? There are a lot out there.

Of course many people find that on occasion a little air will get into their eyes and make them dry, at least until they use drops and or readjust their otherwise good masks, but what you described sounds more like direct pressure, not a leak.

I have a red hematoma and saddlebags around my right eye and I'm tired and just started a new job. I've been on CPAP therapy for 3 weeks. I am so tired and trying to fake that I'm not! My machine is a BiPAP one and it squeaks when I breathe and I can't sleep. In the middle of the night the velcro straps get look and the mask leaks and so I duct taped the bridge of my nose smaller. But then the velcro stops sticking because it gets stuck in my hair. I am not having a good time with this new therapy. Help!

Sounds like the mask is not the right size and possibly not the right style for you. There are many different masks, and you need to find one that fits you well. Then it won't make noise, won't come loose, and won't bother you.

When I started, I found that the mask was the right type and size for me, but the headgear was too large for me. I ordered the smaller size, and my fit problems were eliminated. I rarely have any issues now, usually only when my cushion gets old.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

I went to the bathroom and the whole left corner of my left eye is purple - on the outside of my eye. Looks like I have been in a fight. I have been having problems with my eyes since being on cpap. Has this ever happened to anyone else.

does not sound like a hematoma like my doctor uses the term
but rather a bruise

was the mask pushing hard in the area of the eyes

To clarify, a bruise is a hematoma, but not all hematomas are bruises.
One is a subset of the other.
