Breathing through mouth?

Post by joeljjk11 » Tue Jun 27, 2017 2:13 pm

So recently I have noticed that it seems like I was breathing through my mouth at night but my machine isn't detecting a lot of leakage. I know that there would be drool around my mouth in the morning. I got a brand new chin strap on Saturday and since then this has not happened. Could I have been leaking air out of my mouth before from the worn out chin strap but my machine wasn't detecting it?

Thanks,
Joel

If there was very much mouth leaking the machine would pick up on it. It probably was very small.
A while back I woke up one morning mouth breathing...a very gentle mouth breathing with no loud swooshing of air exiting my mouth. Since it was time to get up anyway I decided to lay there just gently mouth breathing so that I could see what the leak line looked like with the very gentle low level mouth breathing.
Much to my amazement it barely showed on the leak graph. So not all mouth breathing equals massive therapy pressure loss.
See this report below...I circled the known mouth breathing time...and I was awake the entire time...about 15 or 20 minutes I think it was.
