Mask seal

Post by Craigor » Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:56 pm

The first couple months using my machine went fantastic. No mask seal issues. (I use the nose pillows) For the last couple weeks though, I've been getting a sad face and 0 out of 20 score. I've recently got a new nose piece and after the first night I got a happy face but for the last 3 nights it's back to sad face, 0 out of 20. Anybody got any advice?

Don't know what mask or machine you are using, but I would look at pillow size and or mouth breathing.

You need to download sleepyhead so you can see what is happening on a breath-by-breath basis and n0t rely on the display or myair for assessing your treatment. there is a link at the top of the page to download sleepyhead, it free and worth many times that.

The only machine I know of that gives Mr Smiley or Mr Frowny for mask fit is a ResMed machine of some sort.
Hopefully he/she doesn't have a brick that won't/can't give any useful idea as to what the mask leak actually was...like was it a lot of time spent at 27 L/min which won't really impact anything that much or 47 L/min which could seriously impact therapy, recording, sensing, etc.
