It's not clear whether they're trying to say that CPAP withdrawal is worse than not having used CPAP in the first place.
Also, to run such an experiment seems unethical to me.

CPAP withdrawal: May foster diabetes, heart disease
Re: CPAP withdrawal: May foster diabetes, heart disease
All they are saying is that if you stop using your CPAP then you return to the place where you were before you started using your CPAP. OR close enough for me to summarize that way. It's pretty well known hereabouts that using your particular variety of PAP is not a cure for sleep apnea, it is a treatment for a mostly incurable condition. This study just adds to the body of knowledge of what happens if you stop the treatment.
PAPin' Just keep PAPin' just keep PAPin'.
PAPin' Just keep PAPin' just keep PAPin'.

My question is why would you want to stop? I know, personally, how much better I feel now. Told my wife today after she thought I was asleep beside her without it on that I will never sleep without it again, if possible. It's my lifeline.

Hi DH,
I believe this is the same study as the one discussed here: viewtopic/t155159/Untreated-SA-may-wors ... betes.html
Just approaching it from a different perspective.

One could stop using CPAP due to an injury, due to machine failure, or a host of other reasons.
This is a warning not to discontinue use. That is you should keep a spare machine, a spare mask, a spare hose, and a spare power supply on hand.

While it's hard for me to determine which of your posts are more useless or incorrect, I think this is the winner, I may be wrong, so many to chose from. JimD.H. wrote:It's not clear whether they're trying to say that CPAP withdrawal is worse than not having used CPAP in the first place.
