Just Bragging...

Post by jsielke » Sun Jun 11, 2017 6:45 am

I just gotta brag. Last night, for the first time, I had an AHI of ZERO!! And, my SpO2 average was 93% with no drops below 89%. Best night ever!! Good thing, as it is going to be 93 and humid today with an Air Quality alert...

That's awesome!
O soft embalmer of the still midnight,
Shutting, with careful fingers and benign,
Our gloom-pleas'd eyes, embower'd from the light,
Enshaded in forgetfulness divine

Well, today the AHI was .63, which is still good. I found after much experimenting (and expense) that the Nuance pro works best for me, with a chinstrap.

Congrats! I had my first 0 AHI night on June 3rd. Feels amazing, doesn't it?! I've yet to replicate it, so hopefully you get a better record than me and continue getting 0's.

In two rears of treatment, I have had one night with a zero AHI. It has taken this long to find a mask I can easily tolerate, and a pressure that controls my AHI with the least amount of central popping up.

Well, since a bragged, I guess I must make an admission. Last night was very warm, so I didn't put on a chinstrap with my Nuance pro. Ended up with AHI of 5.91! Worst it's been for months. It was all hypopneas.

Mine were an average of .9, but my leaks keep progressively getting worse. Last night I was almost at the max allowed for acceptable leakage. I've been looking online for some kind of solution, but I think it's too new of a product. I'm pretty sure it's the swivel part that's causing the leaks. Just gotta keep experimenting, I guess. I have the F&P Brevida Nasal Pillow CPAP/BiPAP Mask with Headgear.

Never failed...brag on a really good leak graph and then I would have a night where leaks were wild and crazy and not change a darn thing.
Brag on a really low AHI night and wham...I would get a night with AHI well above 5.
Brag on sleeping really soundly with almost no wake ups and wham....next night a gazillion wake ups from any number of things.
Got to the point where I was afraid to brag.
