Pinout for DeVilbiss DV51D-615 cable?

Post by stualden » Sat Feb 27, 2016 4:38 am

Would anyone happen to have a diagram of the connections for this serial cable?

It has a 9-pin D-Sub connector (DE-9) on one end and a 6-pin mini-DIN connector (like a PS/2 mouse or keyboard) on the other.

Thank you!

Someone at CPAP.com may be able to help you. They sell the cables.

Pin view:

6 # 5
4 3
2 1

6 - TxD connect RxD from RS232 (pin2 male or pin3 female)
4 - RxD connect TxD from RS232 (pin3 male or pin2 female)
1 - GND connect GND from RS232 (pin5)
3 wires are enough to establish communication. You can use simple USB to RS232 converter. It can be Chinese.
I upgraded firmware in my CPAP using: Win10 and USB-RS232 converter.

Hi dear, can you send me a schematic of the connection. I tried the following configuration:
1-pin 2 female db9 connector to pin 1 male mini din 6 connector
2-pin 3 female connector db9 to pin 6 male mini din 6 connector
3-pin 5 female db9 connector to pin 4 male mini din 6 connector
I use an rs232 adapter with male db9 connector to usb connector to connect it to my laptop.
the laptop recognizes the connection and enables the com port, but when I run the hyperterminal program to start the commands, it does not establish communication with the CPAP.
I hope you can help me

This topic is 4 years old. The account that commented on successfully creating a cable, doesn't exist anymore.
