I don't believe the battery is replaceable.

When you turn it on does the red LED light up?

Sometimes moisture can foul things up. You can try putting it into a closed container full of rice for a few hours to see if that helps.

I have had mine completely apart and there isn't much to them. The bottom section hold the battery and the USB connector. The top section has the switch and the display and the IC chip. If the switch has gone bad I am not sure if it can economically be replaced, or if you are just better off ordering a new unit.

To move from afib to sinus you may want to review the information on magnesium bicarbonate. When back in sinus rhythm you can then review the information on magnesium malate.

I love my CMS 50F wrist-style oximeter. Very good value at $104 including expedited shipping (took 6 days) at a famous auction site shipped from Hong Kong, or an almost exact same one at Walgreens for $230. I recorded each night for 30 nights and now only twice a week or so. It showed me just how hard my heart was working and how many times my oxygen levels dropped below 90%. I knew I was waking up at night gasping for air, but I had no idea my body was being starved for oxygen so many time a night (96 times). Now I am on APAP so it probably saved my career, if not my life. On APAP I no longer get below 95% oxygen saturation, mostly 98% all night long. The rubber finger thing fits my finger just fine. Search my posts for more oximeter info about this unit, including how to attach the strap.

I also have the CMS 50-E pulse oximeter. There is a one-year warranty. Before I purchased, I did inquire about eventual battery replacement. Although the lithium battery in that model isn't user-replaceable, it can be replaced by the factory service center at Southeastern Medical Supply. After the one-year warranty period, the cost to replace the battery is $43.50. If you think it's worth doing that (versus just replacing the oximeter), you can contact Southeastern Medical Supply and ask if they can take care of that for you. Or you could contact the company that sold it to you if purchased elsewhere.

This happend to my CMS50F, it would not respond to any button presses and the screen was blank. What I did was to open it up and very quickly short out the red and black battery terminal on the circuit board. I could have also unsoldered one of the terminals but shorting it out was faster and it came back to life. Has not happened since. Must be careful and cover the battery with something, if you short it too long it the battery could explode.

I am just wondering about oximeters. Have been a CPAP user about 9 years. Lately have been having blood pressure issues, very scary stroke like symptoms. I am a mouth breather and I also have severe sleep apnea. Sometimes I feel like there's not enough oxygen circulating in my body. The sleep doctor only sees me once a year. I just feel like something is not being addressed here, and I don't know which way to go. Advice please.

I have a CMS50F and it works fine. The display is dim and hard to read. I would buy the one that allows multiple sessions so you don't have to upload every day. I think the multi session is CMS50I? Also I would opt for the wireless model if the price doesnt scare you off. Contec sells direct to public on Ebay and they are cheaper, but with a longer shipping time. The unit I got was defective, the clock doesn't work, but that didnt matter as you can sync it to your cpap session time in sleepyhead.

You may want to look at the Contec CMS 50I pulse oximeter. It can record multiple sessions between downloads.
