Calling on fellow ASV users

Post by jordie500 » Thu May 18, 2017 10:17 am

hi

I have recently been provided with an ASV machine but I am struggling with 'blow outs'. My mask instantly blows out as soon as any pressure starts.

I fit the mask, a few minutes later I start falling asleep and suddenly I am hit with the gush of air = instantly wake up.

All night the mask is doing press ups on my face with these 'blow out's'.

I am getting less sleep than I used to do before getting this machine.

The mask provided was amara view minimal contact face mask.

Please can anyone recommend the best mask for this machine please?

I am desperate need of sleep.

Which mask are you using? Which machine? If you fill out your equipment profile, this info will show every time you post - https://www.cpaptalk.com/ucp.php?i=prof ... pment_info

What is your max. IPAP pressure set at? Mine is set at 23 cm on the Resmed S9 VPAP Adapt and I have no problem with leaks (or 'blow-outs' as you may refer to them) using either the Amara View or Airfit F20 FFM's. Perhaps your mask is just not adjusted tight enough? I do feel the mask lift slightly away from my face during the pressure pulses at times, but it does not leak.

My max pressure is 25. The mask feels comfortable but it keeps me awake all night.

Hi Jordie,

I also used a S1 ASV for five years. Four months ago, I switched to the same mask as yours, Amara View. I used it with the S1 ASV and now with the AirCurve 10. I don't have ANY problems with leaks. Plus, it is adjusted very loosely on my face. On a normal night I have MANY pressure spikes in the 20s. I don't know what to suggest. I suppose it might be possible that you have the wrong size pillow.
