I don't view this as a travel machine but as the new breed of xPAPs - small, light and portable but able to be used in the home. There are analogies that can be drawn with the mobile phone which progressed from a huge brick (with it's own very heavy power supply) to today's smartphones. The only limitation is the size and power of the fans that pump air up your nose.

If so who do you buy it from?
As far as I know most of the Australian CPAP retailers will happily sell you a machine without a study. I won't name names here, but a quick search will bring up some.

Only thing is, why would you want to go spend $1000+ if you have not had the test to make sure you need it.....

I think you missed the point of paddington's question. They were asking if they can buy from the US because the prices in the US are lower than in Australia.

@paddington - I don't know if this is still the case, but the US suppliers used to accept a foreign order as long as you sent them a doctor's prescription. I have a feeling that might have been stopped though, so hopefully someone else will be able to answer more confidently.

I believe the large US CPAP shops have a special agreement with Resmed that prevents them from shipping Resmed products abroad. This is probably to protect Resmed's margins abroad, where prices are usually significantly higher.

Thanks everyone. I have a prescription. I might give it a whirl.

Unlike firearms, there is no law prohibiting "strawman" purchases of CPAP machines. Just saying.

Hi. I received my Airmini yesterday (I'm in New Zealand).

Fantastic tiny machine, works really well BUT is very loud from the humidX pod just under the chin (pillows). Also you need to buy the HumidX pods which need to be replaced at least every 30 days.

Hope I can get used to the noise - very different from my air sense 10

Have been waiting for this machine to come out. First reviews are all the same, very loud noise from the humidication disk using the P10. This is whats holding me back. Curious why they wouldn't make it compatible with regular P10 without the humidification disk. That way I could also use the spare mask from my other home Resmed machine.
