Do I need to erase?

Post by SedonaDreaming » Sat Apr 22, 2017 5:44 pm

This might seem like a stupid question, but one I am willing to ask. I successfully used the SD card (purchased myself) for uploading my SleepyHead data after about a week of therapy. I popped it back into the machine 2 nights ago and now it doesn't show any information since I put it back in.

Do I need to erase the SD card each time I download the SleepyHead data before I replace it in the machine to get it to store new info?

Thanks!

do you need to erase it? no. but it has to be in the machine to record any data.

If you took the advice - to always lock your card before downloading data for sleepyhead - you may have forgotten to unlock it before putting it back in your CPAP machine.

That is my first guess.

If that is not what happened, I am guessing that you did not lock the card before downloading, and your computer messed with the SD card contents - enough that the CPAP machine does not think the card is acceptable in format.

Try removing & reinserting the card.
If your machine complains about the card being locked or write protected, remove the card & unlock it. Then reinsert.

I have never seen any reports of a lock/unlock problem with the Airsense 10 machine. I couple years ago there was a problem with "some" S9 machines. IMO there is no reason to lock the card when inserting in your computer. If anyone has this problem, they should alert members of the forum.

I'm a newbie, so take it with a grain of salt...but my guess is like the person above...you are saying you thought it would have "saved" the data on your machine and be recaptured when you inserted the SD card two days later?

If that's what you are saying, it won't store data to be put on an SD card...the card has to be in the machine.

You do not need to erase, or lock/unlock. Detailed data is only recorded to the SD card if it is inserted while the data is being collected. If you inset the card later limited basic data is transferred to the card.

OMG...Color me stupid. No...really.

I just tried again to see my SleepyHead data from the card (which I keep in my machine at all times). I forgot that I had to import the data when I put the card in and wasn't seeing data. Of course I won't see anything under subsequent dates if I don't do that! MY FAULT! All is well.

Carry on...
