Flashair Card overheating.

Post by jsielke » Mon Apr 10, 2017 9:02 am

I got a Toshiba W-03 Flashair card to use. It works great in my Dreamstation, so I got another to use in my backup Respironics System One 560 APAP. Card shows good when inserted, but after an hour or so, machine starts beeping, and message about card is corrupted appears. When I remove card, it is hot (well, very warm) . If I leave it out for a few hours, I can start again, but after an hour, it repeats the corrupt card. Tried the same card in my Dreamstation, and all worked fine. Any suggestions?

Sounds like it's not the card but the machine it's used for.

Maybe the card is getting a poorer wifi signal in one of the machines, and therefore needs to boost its transmission signal...

It's simple switch card from one machine to the other, see if the problem travels too. I too have problems with USB drives corruption, the bad drive usually overheats also. With a wireless device it would be even harder as far as heating, but usually there is a defect in the memory device. I am really getting fed up with 64 gb and 128 gb flash drive failure, brand doesn't matter the products have a high failure rate. I just threw a 128 gb away yesterday, costly but not worth the hassle of RMA. The manufacture's don't want to stand behind their products, I doubt if they are tested. Jim
