airsense 10 autoset and temp
airsense 10 autoset and temp
I've had my new airsense 10 now for two weeks and have a couple of questions. The first is when I pull the water tube out at night to fill it the edge near the holes is a little warm. Is this normal? Only thing I can think of is the light that is on in the top button is causing the area there to be warm. Might be normal and fine but wanted to check since it is a new machine. The second is about the data. I use sleepyhead and I know resmed has it's own which cost money. But does these machine report more when the doctor gets his report? I know sleepyhead is designed to work with many machines so I'm sure it does the best it can but I would hope the people that make the machines have good software to read their own machines. Does the full data get downloaded every day just more detail then we get with the myair website or once the doctor wants to see a report does the DME pull data out of the machine at that time over the air?
Also wondering if there is a way to keep the display at full brightness. I've looked thru the manual but maybe missed it. I have the room light on which is and overhead light from a ceiling fan but it still is dim when I do anything with the machine unless it is daylight out and very bright in the room. It would be nice if I could stop it from being dim

LEDs (the light at the top) create very little warmth.bmanley wrote:I've had my new airsense 10 now for two weeks and have a couple of questions. get a copy of resscan and compare.
depends on what report the doctor wants to get, no they don't download from the machine "on request". the machine sends detail (not high rate) data to the 'cloud' and they pull it from there, the only place the "full" data exists is on your SD card.

Re: airsense 10 autoset and temp
From what I can tell rescan costs so not really in the budget.
The tub is just warm to the touch so it's not hot. Just wanted to make sure it was normal and not a problem with the machine. I said tube before and didn't notice it.
I would guess since they were not going to give me and SD card until I asked it uploaded everything to the cloud. Also the doctor said he would get a download from the over the air download.

Re: airsense 10 autoset and temp
If you know where to look ResScan doesn't cost any money.
There's no reason you can use both software (SleepyHead and ResScan) if you wish.
But ResScan doesn't show you anything that SH doesn't show and in fact SH shows more data points.
Don't take just my word for it though...see for yourself and enjoy the PITA ResScan.
What ResScan does show is the same data that SH shows but ResScan presents the data visually different...but it is still the same data.
Go here http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual
and scroll down past the list of ResMed manuals available until you see this line

Re: airsense 10 autoset and temp
the last time I talked to someone who should know, (being a sleep doctor who liked to play with the toys), I was told that resmeds do not transmit full high res detail data over the air. the full high res detail data is only available on the card.bmanley wrote:I would guess since they were not going to give me and SD card until I asked it uploaded everything to the cloud. most doctors don't bother to look at it.

And unfortunately, this says that your doctor only cares about AHI and hours used. Good thing you have Sleepyhead because that is going to help you far more than your doc will.bmanley wrote: I would guess since they were not going to give me and SD card until I asked it uploaded everything to the cloud. It does have a light sensor on the front that is suppose to automatically adjust the display light properly for the ambient light in the room.bmanley wrote:I've had my new airsense 10 now for two weeks and have a couple of questions. My experience is it does not work properly all of the time.
I pulled my Humidifier tank out and using a IR temp gun the corner was showing 85 degrees compared to the back of the tank at 77 degrees.
The middle area around the indicator light read 84 degrees. The power brick is pretty warm when not in use reading 97 degrees.
My room ambient temp was 70 degrees.
Re: airsense 10 autoset and temp
Well when my pulmonary doctor ordered the new machine he was saying he wanted a full download in a month so he could see what my problems were. But also said he believed the DME could get this over the air for him. So I think he cares what is going on, but time will tell. I have to see him between 30 days and 90 days after I got the new machine so we will see what he says. He always wants me to bring my card so they can download it but before this I had the S9 escape so it really didn't tell him much more then if I was using it. I can only hope he cares.SewTired wrote:And unfortunately, this says that your doctor only cares about AHI and hours used. detailed data is transferred to the cloud with the airsense machines, not just AHI and hours.
please do shut up.

Re: airsense 10 autoset and temp
So in one post above you say it does not and then you say it does transmit full data.

no, your comprehension ability is lacking.bmanley wrote:So in one post above you say it does not and then you say it does transmit full data.
the machines transmit detailed, but not full data.
they do not transmit the high resolution flow and pressure data, that is *only on the sd card*. that is, according to a doctor who uses airview.

well, in all fairness, why myair shows and what the machine transmit aren't the same... but I understand your too getting tired.Pugsy wrote:Sign yourself up for ResMed's MyAir and see for yourself what the machine transmits.

Re: airsense 10 autoset and temp
I guess it all boils down to where the doctor gets his data (that gets transmitted) from. Will he use the MyAir stuff or the other software?palerider wrote:well, in all fairness, why myair shows and what the machine transmit aren't the same... but I understand your too getting tired.
But yes, I am getting tired and I have a headache from banging my head against the wall. I am going to take a break.
I have had to explain the damn 95% thing too many times already today. Short night last night and I am short on patience today.

clinicians *shouldn't* use myair, if they do, well, that's a good sign to find another doctor.Pugsy wrote:I guess it all boils down to where the doctor gets his data (that gets transmitted) from.
