Yeah, we tend to want to blame anything and everything but ourselves.
Good sleep hygiene...I am bad also but I know I am bad sometimes and I accept full responsibility for when I am bad. We are human after all.
I know some people feel they do very well with shorter than "normal" hours of sleep but I am not one of them.

Plus I have some other health issues that mess with my sleep quality and as much as I wish the machine could fix those issues..it is just beyond the miracle of the machine.
What I have discovered is that while I still may not wake up wanting to run a marathon (I have never been a morning person anyway) I at least don't wake up and feel like I ran a marathon and got run over by a bus at the end of it.

I have been using my Quattro FX FF Mask for a few nights to compare with my nasal mask and these are my observations.

Pros:
I have been waking up before my alarm goes off feeling too refreshed to get back to sleep.
Have felt generally much better on less sleep than with nasal mask.
Leak Rate has gone right down, 95 per cent is between 0 and 1.2 (was between 18 and 33)
Flow Limit looks very similar to me.

Cons:
AHI has crept up to an average of around 3 (was around 2)
Mask is uncomfortable and venting is noisy.
I'm awoken 2 or 3 times due to air noise (or possibly events).
Having to reset the machine to get back to sleep.
Partner is also disturbed by increased noise.

My conclusion is that I have probably been mouth leaking previously and I'm now benefiting from wearing a FF Mask. I feel that I need to get a quieter and more comfortable mask however. I have a Mask Review appointment at the hospital next Monday so will see what they have to say, I am really tempted to buy the Amara View if the hospital do not have much to offer me.

Any thoughts? I will post last nights data in a moment.

Further to the above, my AHI went up to 5.5 last night, I was awoken 4 or 5 times and reset the machine. Just after 3 this morning I removed the home made air deflector I had fitted to the mask vent, thinking that the machine may be seeing it as an obstruction and behaving differently. I felt refreshed first thing but by lunchtime I was starting to feel tired. I have also upped the minimum pressure over the past couple of nights, to 6.8 and then 7.2 last night.

unless it's significantly restricting the airflow, the machine won't care.

Have left the deflector off as a precaution, seemed to sleep better last night but could be for any number of reasons, including the use of a white noise app.
