In the new ResMed's that would be the AirCurve 10 VAuto.
what she said.

Ok so the big news is that I got my new machine today. And I didn't have to go for the titration study.

sorry, calm down...

interesting as 'informative' not interesting as in 'may you live in interesting times'.

I'm looking forward to see some charts, and how you do on the resmed algorithm. you'll set the pressures up with minimum around what you had on the bilevel, right?

OK, great. I seriously thought you were going to say, "I can't believe they still even sell that POS machine!!".

The sleepcenter set it up already. Should I put my own settings in? So far it looks like they have an auto setting range of 4-20. Also, doesn't appear to have an SD card slot. How do I get data from it?

They didn't set a darn thing. The 4 to 20 is simply the default from the factory settings. They won't work well for you.

It's got a slot but it's sort of hidden. Look at the LCD screen...just to the left of it is a little door that you have to open got see the slot.
Actually there are 2 little doors and it's the top one that is the SD card slot. Takes the tip of the fingernail to open it.
See the manual.

no no, as far as I'm concerned, that's the best machine for most people, as long as they don't need extra pressure support, or something for central apneas.

4-20 is how it comes from the factory, so, yes, you should put your settings into it.

there's an SD card on the left side, if there's not one in there, go back and yell at them till they give you the one they stole out of it. (or use one of your own)

Fantastic! I didn't see the SD slot and she said there wasn't one.

How do I enter therapy set up for this device?

It's amazing what they DONT show you. I found the SD port and entered the therapy setup.

Also was told that never should I use tap water in humidifier.

all depends on your paranoia level vs your willingness to soak the tank in a bit of vinegar now and then.

So I'm in the therapy settings and it looks a lot different from the settings that were suggested for my old machine.

and I agree with PR's starting point suggestions.

Change to Auto mode (it's in bilevel mode right now)
Minimum EPAP 7
PS minimum 2
PS maximum 4
Maximum IPAP 25

I won't know about bypassing the scheduled titration study though...I would want to see if you had many centrals show up at the above settings....and/or get a look at the recent diagnostic study before I would suggest blowing off the titration study.
None of these settings exist in this machine.
